Rabbit Awareness Week: 28th June – 4th July 2021
Rabbit Awareness Week is an annual campaign with the aims of encouraging owners to take the best care of their fluffy friends, improve their welfare, and provide education about their needs and illnesses to look out for.
According to the PDSA Paws report (2020), there are 1 million pet rabbits in the UK and 2% of UK housholds keeps rabbits.
For more information on rabbit welfare, the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare (APGAW) has worked with a team of organisations – Rabbit Welfare Association, RSPCA, PDSA, Pet Industry Federation, Petfood Manufacturers Association and the Animal Welfare Foundation – to write a non-statutory Welfare Code for Rabbits (available here).
