The Society for Companion Animal Studies (SCAS) was established in 1979 to promote the study of human-companion animal interactions and raise awareness of the importance of pets in society. Over the past forty years SCAS has established itself as a source of evidence on best practices in human-animal interactions.
Our mission is to enhance the well-being of people and animals by promoting and supporting their interactions to our members, practitioners in the field, healthcare professionals, the animal welfare sector and anyone interested in companion animals and the many ways they enhance health and well-being.
This is an exciting time at SCAS and we are looking to appoint new Board members with enthusiasm and the time to work with the board to help drive our growth over the next few years.
The role of Board members is not remunerated. There are approximately 8 board meetings per year which take place online. Board members are also expected to attend the Annual General Meeting and encouraged to attend the annual conference (currently taking place online).
To apply, please follow the links below, or email the SCAS administrator for an application form (info@scas.org.uk). The closing date for application is 31 July 2023.
